SMS Opt-In — Discipler

Discipler LLC sends SMS mentorship check-ins on behalf of churches and campus ministries that run discipleship programs. Only people enrolled as participants in one of those programs receive messages, and only after they opt in themselves.

This page shows the exact SMS consent section that appears on the mentorship intake form each ministry provides to its participants through Discipler. The live forms are identical except for the ministry name.

How opt-in works

A participant enrolls in their ministry's mentorship program using the intake form the ministry sends them.
The participant enters their own mobile number and checks the consent box shown above. The box starts unchecked and is never pre-selected.
Consent is always given by the person who will receive the messages. Numbers are never purchased, imported from a third party, or added by a coordinator on someone else's behalf.
Consent is not required to participate in the mentorship program.
This form is the only opt-in method used for this program. There is no verbal, paper, in-store, or keyword-based opt-in.
Immediately after opting in, the participant receives a confirmation message.

Program details

Sender: Discipler LLC, on behalf of the church or ministry running the mentorship program.
Recipients: Mentors and mentees enrolled in that ministry's program who have opted in.
Message types: Check-in prompts, conversational replies to participant responses, and occasional program reminders.
Frequency: Approximately 3–5 messages per week during active mentorship programs, up to about 24 messages per month.
Cost: Discipler does not charge participants for messages. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier.
Carriers: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Opting out and getting help

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. You will get one confirmation, and then no further messages.
Reply START to begin receiving messages again.
Reply HELP for support information, or email support@trydiscipler.com.
You can also ask your ministry coordinator to remove your number at any time.
